David Whisel says
Dr. Henley was one of the few orhopaedic doctors that actually took the time to talk to me in a way that made me feel like he really cared about me. When I presented with a problem in my left elbow, Dr. Henley took the time to listen to my complaint, describe my symptoms and my concerns. He then quickly diagnosed that my problem was a case of tennis elbow.
What I appreciated most was something unexpected: he did not recommend surgery as the first step in my plan of care. Other doctors that I’ve seen in the past were quick to get me into surgery. Dr. Henley’s plan was to begin with non-invasive steps and then move into more aggressive actions if the therapy and exercise did not work.
However, Dr. Henley did throughly explain all of my options as well as the risks involved that helped me make the right decision for me. He also explained that there was a new procedure that was being done for patients like me that gave many patients relief, but because it was a new procedure, my insurance would not cover the procedure. I most appreciated his honesty and not letting me get the surprise from my insurer that they would not cover the procedure.
Although in my case surgery was warranted, Dr. Henley was exceptionally professional as well as caring during my post-operative care.
Hopefully, I’ll never need his services again but if I do, I wouldn’t hesitate to call him again. Likewise, I would recommend him to my family and friends.
Sincerely,
David Whisel
